Prominent Moscow business complex gets security upgrade with HID solution

An HID Global solution has been chosen for the security and access control system at Moscow’s Capital Plaza, a new 49,000 square-mile business complex that houses many of Russia’s prominent business organizations.

Capital Plaza required an unmatched professional security system to ensure the protection of the diverse and dynamic companies headquartered there. A key element was its access control system, which would include more than 290 readers to register up to 20,000 users a day, monitor access to all floors and offices, and register incoming and outgoing vehicle access. It also had to protect against counterfeit credentials to ensure that only authorized personnel be granted access to secure locations.

Capital Group chose AAM Systems, a leading Russian distributor of HID solutions, to implement a LyriX software-based package and HID iCLASS® contactless smart card readers. AAM used HID identification products, from proximity cards and readers to iCLASS contactless smart cards and readers.

In addition, the use of the dual technology iCLASS proximity and contactless smart cards allowed Capital Group simple integration with their legacy systems, and the HID equipment was easily integrated with other manufacturers’ systems in use.

“The iCLASS series of devices are perfectly suited to further expand system opportunities, making combined use of access control and other systems working with personal data, such as biometrics, parking, time and attendance, much more convenient, economic and reliable,” said Alexei A. Gintse, marketing director of AAM Systems.

The parking garage at Capital Plaza was equipped with a Nedap Combi-Booster device, which combines long-range Nedap TRANSIT readers and HID iCLASS proximity and contactless smart cards. The system makes it possible to identify moving drivers up to 10 meters away and the vehicle ID. The business center can then register the driver and vehicle, offering a higher level of security.
