No two days the same for Dan
Taking on new challenges and not being afraid to try something new has helped Dan Gren progress in his career at ASSA ABLOY.
Dan, currently in charge of the Global Purchasing Organization in ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, says: “ASSA ABLOY is a company with endless possibilities and an organization that will give you the opportunity to develop if you are active in pursuing new challenges and are clear with your goals and targets.”
Since joining ASSA ABLOY in 2001 as part of the operations and supply management team, Dan’s varied roles saw him move to Shanghai in 2004 to start up the Group Sourcing Office. And although he moved back home to live in Sweden in 2007, his new assignment was international. As Special Project Manager for ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems he took on the responsibility of setting up production in Czech Republic and transferring production from Germany to this new site.
The international ingredient is of course there also in his current job.
“I get the chance to work across functions with people from various parts of the organization – and I also have the opportunity to constantly meet new people from different parts of the world, both within the ASSA ABLOY organization and outside,” Dan says. “No two days are the same, which means that the job is never boring and there are always new things to tackle to bring value to the company.
Summing up what makes ASSA ABLOY the ideal place for a successful career, Dan says: “For me it is important to have a job that I like and enjoy, where I feel that I am constantly challenged and that I also have the opportunity to develop myself and the people around me.”
