Sandra says the only constant is change

Sandra Ríos is quite possibly one of the better jugglers around. Juggling of priorities and all aspects of life allows her to set goals and achieve balance in her life.

Working for Phillips in Mexico for ten years, Sandra has come full circle. She started in the Industrial Engineering area and is now the engineering chief. She also worked in the Manufacturing Control area coordinating the manufacturing process of padlocks from parts to final assembly and in the Demand Management area.

Sandra is fulfilled at her job by the continuous improvement that has taken place. “It is evident that everything can be improved with team work and a common objective: to improve and to innovate processes to be competitive.”

She believes that in order to have happiness one must have balance in four key areas of life: Family; Spirituality; Personal and Professional. And her family has always been there to support her ambitions. She travels annually with her family to the beach, a place where she someday hopes to live, and includes friends as part of her extended family. All are credited for the encouragement she receives to pursue a balanced life.

Sandra finds inner peace by valuing the things she has, even the small things, like the dawn and the singing of birds. “We sometimes do not value what we have due to the stress of daily life,” Sandra says. “I have learned to value these things – even the small things.”

Some of her personal achievements include completing a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in industrial engineering. It was a big challenge since she had to balance her life as mother, wife, professional and student. “I was able to learn that the ‘only constant is change’, so we need to renew ourselves in all scopes of life.”
